In this age of information, a mentor can be book, recordings on
tapes/CDs, or a person. My personal preference is to be mentored by a
person who can answer you questions on the fly. Yes the tapes, CDs,
and MP3s are great and convenient. You can plug them in and listen to
them at your convenience, but there is no accountability. A real
person will watch over you and direct you. This is the route you
should take for your mentoring needs. Look out for someone or a group
of people who have been mentoring for years – long timers!
If there is a single word that decides between success and failure, it
is YOU. Your mindset and motivation level is critical to your success.
You could have all the mentoring from the top gurus in the industry
but if you are not committed to the cause, you are bound to fail.
Whether it is free or not, one must be coachable to benefit from
mentoring. If you are someone who frowns at directions, please save
yourself and your mentor, the time that will be used for mentoring. At
the end of the day what mentoring is all about is someone taking you by
the hand and showing you the paths they have taken to be where they are
today so that you don’t have do endure the failures and struggle that
they went through when they first started.
For your MLM success, look for a mentor. Your mentor can be your
sponsor and/or upline. Look for a successful person who has already
learned valuable lessons from trial and error and can pass that
knowledge along to you. That person must be willing to teach you. If
there is no one in your upline that has these characteristics, look
elsewhere in your company. If you cannot find someone to work with in
your company, then you will need to look elsewhere. But before you go
this route make sure you have exhausted all avenues of finding
mentoring help in your company. Find a network marketing trainer whose
credentials you can check and who has a good reputation. Use them as
your mentor until you find someone that you can work with more closely.
